“Max Buri had me come to Grindelwald, Switzerland, on a warm spring day to play around with some fireworks. We got to the park as the resort was closing and immediately ran into drama with a ski patroller who insisted we leave. I was annoyed, but Max just laughed it off. ‘I don’t mind getting kicked out,’ he said. ‘Now it feels more like a skate session.’ After we knew the coast was clear, we went back, built a bonfire, and waited for sunset. Max only had a few fireworks, so getting the right exposure and timing was tricky. In this photo he accidentally tapped the firework with his board, sending out a bit more smoke than during previous attempts.” Photo: Ahriel Povich
