“2023 was a record year across the Sierra Nevada, CA. During March, it was almost impossible to get into Mammoth. U.S. Route 395 North had been closed for weeks due to multiple avalanches taking out the road, and 395 South felt like it had been closed more than open due to massive storms. Somehow Marissa Krawczak timed her trip there perfectly, arriving on the first sunny day in weeks. We sessioned some amazing conditions for a few days, then she snuck out of town right before another atmospheric river unloaded on the area, shutting everything down again.” Photo: Andrew Miller
