Blake Paul

Blake Paul is a professional snowboarder who enjoys surfing, skateboarding, and constant motion. He grew up in Jackson, WY after his family of snowboarders migrated from Vermont at a young age. Learning from some of the greats like Aaron Robinson and Bryan Iguchi, Blake fell in love with riding powder and the lifestyle that came with it. After high school he became fortunate enough to travel the world and film for various snowboard projects with his friends. Nowadays, he splits his time between Jackson, Salt Lake City, UT and Encinitas, CA, and can be found living out of a bag for months on end. Follow Blake’s travels on Instagram at @blakepaul.

Justin Fann

Originally from Idaho, Justin Fann lives in Jackson, WY these days. Snowboarding was his gateway to becoming a dedicated filmmaker, as he shot mini DV with his friends trying to emulate what they saw in Afterbang, True Life, Lame, or some other favored snowboard flick of the early 2000s. As Lead Editor for Teton Gravity Research since 2015, Justin has overseen everything from short web content to multi-year feature films including Jeremy Jones’ Higher, Andy Irons: Kissed By God, and most recently Ode to Muir. Justin produced the trip to Yuzawa, Japan seen in this issue as part of Elena Hight’s forthcoming project with TGR.

A photographer and filmer in the snowsports industry in the 90s and early 2000s, Matt Small’s work was been featured in countless magazines and his cinematography work was used by Teton Gravity Research and Standard Films. Hailing from Des Moines, WA, he still rides and shoots at Crystal Mountain in between time spent as a dedicated father and his work as a realtor in the greater Puget Sound area.

Tomas Ruprecht

Born in Argentina, Tomas Ruprecht grew up in Killington, VT where he witnessed the documentation of an emerging snowboard scene. The creativity and chemistry between the rider and photographer inspired him at a young age and remains an enduring source of his motivation. Tomas’s photos and stories have been featured in Snowboard Magazine, State 14 and Analog Companion, and used by brands like Ben & Jerry’s, The Good Life! and Anon Optics. These days he lives in Burlington, VT working the occasional odd job or two while freelancing photos and words. When not tied up with work you can catch him hiking around the woods of Stowe, cooking at home, biking, or out with his dog, Pablo.

John Scarth

John Scarth was born and raised outside of Toronto, ON, in a camera loving family. He moved to Whistler, BC in 1997 to shoot snowboarding and live the dream. He spent nearly a decade shooting as a freelancer before moving on to the Photo Editor position at Snowboard Canada for seven years. From there, John transitioned into the film industry and now works as a line producer from his home in Squamish, BC, where he spends as much time as possible with his family and exploring the coastline on his Sea-Doo.
