Riley Bathurst
Hailing from Christchurch, New Zealand, Riley Bathurst grew up to ride the Clubbies—local ski areas run by a club with 50 people on a powder day, barely maintained roads and no groomers, ever. He works with cameras across all seasons, from shooting tourist photos and nightlife in Whistler to wandering the Japanese backcountry to deep days in Tahoe where he lives nowadays. A jack of all trades, Riley also does web and graphic design. Find more of his work at rileybathurst.com and on Instagram @rileybathurst.

Elias Elhardt
Hailing from the small German town of Oberstaufen, Elias Elhardt has been a pro snowboarder for more than a decade. Now living in Innsbruck, Austria, he has recently developed a voice as a filmmaker, which can be seen through Contraddiction (2019) and his current project, Narcis, which complements the Kosovo feature in this issue. Supported by Dakine, Nitro, Smith Optics and Deeluxe, Elias is now fully engaged in the creative process of storytelling and says, “Snowboarding offers such a great venue to tell stories beyond sheer performance. It’s nice to learn something new beyond my role as a pro snowboarder—I really appreciated having the opportunity to share my values and thoughts through those films, especially in the turbulent times we live in.” Look for Narcis on thesnowboardersjournal.com and follow Elias on Instagram @eliaselhardt.
Mike Yoshida
Mike Yoshida took up photography at a young age in Homer, AK. He learned through trial and error, and soon after moving to Bellingham, WA in the late ’90s, he started shooting snowboarding as much as possible. Mike hand-delivered his first submission to The Snowboarder’s Journal and landed a double-page spread in 2003. From there, his work took him from Think Thank mascot to K2 staff photographer, Snowboarder Magazine photo editor, Pro Photographer Showdown finalist and X Games gold medalist. Indeed, Yosh has seen a lot since his days flipping burgers in Mt. Baker’s White Salmon Lodge. He now works with Bonfire Outerwear as their marketing manager, where he continues to pursue his love of photography and spending time in the mountains.
