Taylor Boyd While studying business at the University of Colorado, Taylor Boyd replied to an ad seeking a delivery driver for a local magazine. Motivated by a bank account six beers shy of an overdraft, he crafted an unconventionally compelling letter for such a position, so they hired him to write. Of course, the magazines still needed to be delivered, so he did that too. A part-time gig with Snowboard Magazine led to a position as associate editor, then senior editor. In 2016, he became TransWorld Snowboarding’s final editor, where he spent three years living at a keyboard in Southern California and out of board bag anywhere else. Today, Taylor lives in Nederland, CO, works in brand marketing at New Belgium Brewing, and helps edit Torment Magazine. Isaiah Branch-Boyle A mestizo film director born and raised in the Southwest, Isaiah Branch-Boyle (he/him/his) has worked with National Geographic, Patagonia, The North Face and Google, and his work has been featured in The New York Times. Isaiah grew up on the Southern Ute Reservation in southwest Colorado and continues to tell stories about people’s relationship to the land. When he isn’t chasing stories on his motorcycle, you can find him editing in his cabin in southwest Colorado. See more from Isaiah at www.isaiahbranchboyle.com and on Instagram @isaiahjboyle. Leslie Hittmeier Leslie Hittmeier is a freelance writer and photographer living in Red Lodge, MT. She worked as the online editor at Skiing Magazine (RIP) and managing editor at Teton Gravity Research before recently joining Never Not Collective (an all-female production team). Storytelling has always been her focus and she has traveled to Chile, Japan, France, Canada, and all over the American West to document skiers and riders in their natural habitats. On recent shoots (such as Elena Hight’s Blank Canvas and a The North Face campaign in British Columbia), she has found herself being the token skier in a crew of snowboarders and says, “It’s really a dream come true.” Leslie has always wanted to surf the pow, but with limited style and awful balance, it seems she is destined to maintain the two-plank life. Len Necefer Dr. Len Necefer is from the Navajo Nation in northeastern Arizona. An assistant professor of American Indian studies at the University of Arizona, he currently splits time between Tucson, AZ and the Rocky Mountains, wildly oscillating between wearing beach attire and finding deep powder stashes. He is the CEO and founder of NativesOutdoors, an outdoor creative and talent collective whose mission is to empower indigenous peoples through their products and storytelling. He also sits on the board of the Honnold Foundation and the American Alpine Club. Austen Sweetin Hailing from Seattle,WA Austen Sweetin currently splits time between a cabin near Mt. Baker and a container house in Ucluelet, BC that he recently built with his partner Robin Van Gyn (and their dog, Stella). Supported by Quiksilver, Lib Tech, Ninja Suit, Coal Headwear, One Ball Jay, Fatso peanut butter, and Salt & Stone, Austen’s constant froth has him riding a snowboard, skateboard or surfboard most days. This year, he and filmmaker Sean Lucey launched Boardslide Worldwide to document their travels and complement their annual short films, which are sure to get you fired up to go ride.
