“The crew at Asymbol Gallery had set up a series of panels for Schoph, Jamie and I to paint. A couple nights before the show, we got together in my garage, shared ideas about what we wanted to do, and made a primitive sketch. We painted it outside the gallery under a tarped-out enclosure under an awning with a heavy-duty forced air heater to keep us from freezing. It came together while the snow piled up and was the first of three large collaborations we did together over the next few days after the ‘Human Nature 3’ show. From my perspective, ‘Alignment’ is symbolic of the synergy we experienced painting it, and the collective creative sessions that followed.”—Bryan Iguchi Photo: Courtesy Asymbol Gallery JACKSON HOLE ALIGNMENT 095
