CONTRIBUTORS 01 02 03 04 05 CHRIS GALLARDO (01) Chris Gallardo grew up on the central California coast in the small town of Pismo Beach as a typical surf and skate rat. In 1990, he moved to Squaw Valley to learn to snowboard and quickly fell in love with the sport. By the mid-’90s, Chris was getting paid to ride. A few years later, he became a father and shifted his priorities from snowboard-ing to parenthood. He never stopped snowboarding though, he just had to pick his days more carefully. This led him to the backcountry and eventually a splitboard in 2000. Splitboarding provided the per-fect outlet for combining his love for snowboarding and adventure. In 2004, Chris founded splitboard.com, which keeps him connected to the sport he loves. KAISA LEMLEY (02) Kaisa Lemley is an artist and illustrator living in Bellingham, WA.
