CONTRIBUTORS TREVOR DICKIE (01) A native of Woodinville, WA, Trevor Dickie now resides in Bellingham, where he is studying visual journalism at Western Washington University, with a strong focus on the outdoors. An avid rock climber, snowboarder and mountain biker, he isn’t too interested in writing and photographing hard news and politics, but wearing sandals through the winter is his jam. In fall 2017, Trevor began an internship with The Snowboarder’s Journal, where he’s been quietly kicking ass from his desk in the corner when not engaged in modeling duties. See more from Trevor on Instagram @trevor_dickie and on thesnowboardersjournal.com. TIM ZIMMERMAN (05) Hailing from Dubois, PA, Tim Zimmerman’s been shooting snow-boarding for nearly two decades. Nowadays, he resides in Seattle, where he’s the staff photographer for Mervin Manufacturing Media, focusing on snow, surf, skate and more for Lib Technologies, Gnu Snowboards and Bent Metal. Although he spends the majority of his time on the road with kids half his age, the always-opinionated Zim-merman doesn’t plan to move to a cushy corpo gig anytime soon. “Being a snowboard photographer has never been a stepping stone to something else for me,” he says. “It’s what I always wanted and set out to do. That hasn’t changed.” To take offense to his personal thoughts or see pictures of his baby daughter, Liesl and wife Jenn, find him @fotomaxizoomdweebie on Instagram. For his abundant action im-agery, follow @libtechnologies, @gnusnowboards, @libtechskate and @bentmetalbindingworks. 02 BOB PLUMB (02) Born and Raised Salt Lake City, Bob Plumb has no plans to leave any-time soon—partly because his two all-time-favorite snowboarders, J2 and Mikey Leblanc, still live there too. Bob’s been shooting snowboard photos professionally for a decade for a wide range of clients worldwide, and currently spends most of his time rolling with the Nitro Snowboards team. After immigrating to Australia at age 3, he grew up skating and surfing in the Sydney beachside suburb of Manly. After studying art in Sydney, he moved to Zurich, then Paris, then London, and finally wound up in Mount Washington, Los An-geles. With nearly two decades of shooting behind him, Dominic’s work fluctuates between portraiture, fashion and on-the-road chaos. Recently, he’s begun to work as a director of photography on various cinematic projects as well. Brought up surfing in Southern California, Forrest now calls Utah home. When he’s not earning his turns on verti-cal frozen waves, he works to raise awareness for the environment and actively engages the snow sports community to lead the fight against global climate change. Forrest’s sponsors include Patagonia, Jones Snowboards, Yeti, Hestra, and Clif Bar, and he can be found on Insta-gram @forrestshearer. 03 | Photo: Maddison Rothery 01 05 098 THE SNOWBOARDER’S JOURNAL
