HERE Arthur with a last-light straight air on a low-build hip. I’ve seen Arthur do this a couple of times—he’ll session something and get his tricks, then go back up and blast a huge straight air for fun. RIGHT TOP We were across the valley earlier in the day and ended up with terrible snow and clouds. After a while, we decided to jump in the car and head to one of the last trams on the opposing side. We got off the tram and this kicker-shaped rock immediately caught my eye. With just a tiny bit of light left, we hurried and hit it until it was too dark to see. Backflip melon. BOTTOM RIGHT On a warm, sunny day we followed a long traverse way off the side of the resort. We continued to hike and ride down and away from tracks searching for spots. The snow was torched, but there were a few little miracle pockets—the landing of this gap being one of them. I landed this back one and was riding away too fast to stop before a wind drift in the flats. I nailed it and switched double front flip toma-hawked, losing my goggles in the process. CHAMONIX 095
