CLOCKWISE FROM TOP LEFT Mikey loves fishing and he’s good at it. He would’ve been happy to fish the whole time. This lingcod is one of dozens he caught. We kept that one and the chef cooked it up for us. It had to be clubbed to death and I think that caught some people off guard, watching a fish get beaten with a small wooden bat. It looks like Red’s catching something, but really he’s just stuck on the bottom. Austen with a very Austen-sized fish. Later in the trip, we’d go surfing about 8 a.m. and be back by noon. We had cabin fever and a boat. Austen showed his prowess on the single water ski, then Red said he could snowboard it. He had a wetsuit underneath his full kit. You know, board-dom.
