Trips like these are so much more fun when everyone is down to earth and human. The first day we surfed. We would approach these spots by boat and see the back of the wave, which makes it hard to tell what they’re doing. You have to suit up and go, and from the back a wave usually looks smaller. On Austen’s first wave he was frothing, but he found the bottom pretty quickly. Didn’t break the wetsuit, but broke skin and took one for the team during the first few minutes of the trip.
