This spot obviously has been shot before—it’s not a secret, Ken Block got iconic images there. What makes this one different is the time of year. It was midsummer, I drove the truck down for two weeks and set up my tent in the desert. I had reached out to some moto dudes, strangers who I really respected who shred, and somehow convinced them to come down in the hottest, windiest time of year. We ended up with something different because the dirt was so dry, and the wind was so gnarly there was a ton of dust in the air. We took a chance, but this image alone made the 20-hour drive (each way) totally worth it.
