REWIND To Gr or Gr Not Photo and Caption Dano Pendygrasse A REMARKABLE THING about snow-boarding is we went through a time of realizing we were not skateboarding and did not have to grab our boards. The trick was simply to look really good while (not) doing it. Very few embraced the shifty more than Andy Hetzel and with good reason—very few people could make a grabless air look as good. 1993 was the peak of shifties and I had recently parted ways with my last real job to shoot snowboarding full time. That meant a road trip to the hallowed grounds of Breckenridge, CO, which had been hosting one of the biggest contests in snowboarding for years—the World Cup Finals, presented by Butterfinger.
