Known as much for their perpendicular on-piste antics as their far-out big mountain descents in the Alps, Andes and be-yond, the duo cut their own path. Although hardboots and asym-metrical alpine boards had fallen mostly out of fashion by the mid ’90s, a recent resurgence of nuanced edge control shows that the pair’s approach was timeless—as displayed here in 1992 by the late, great Nerva in Las Leñas, Argentina. 030 THE SNOWBOARDER’S JOURNAL
