ABOVE I have never seen stars so bright in my life as those at high camp in the Khumbu Valley on the 40-day expedition to Nepal with Jeremy Jones for Higher (2014). You can see the spines he rode in the background standing tall. This trip changed my life and really kicked my photogra-phy career into full swing. RIGHT Jeremy Jones, around two hours after he rode his insane spine line. We had to immediately pack up our high camp and start heading down-valley because a massive storm was quickly approaching. I don’t think it had really set in for any of us what had just happened. We had been in Nepal for over four weeks and some-how barely pulled this off. The day after, a ferocious monsoon brought torrential rainfall and large amounts of snow, which set off massive ava-lanches, burying a few villages and killing some stranded hikers close to the same area we were in. Luckily, we had made a crazy push to lower elevation and were all tripping out how close we has come to a very gnarly situation. ANDREW MILLER GALLERIE 091
