Living in the Eastern Sierra you quickly learn to embrace the wind. It blows, and it blows hard. It comes with fury from most all directions and dictates everything on the mountain. After living here for a while, you start to notice which zones get good during certain directions of wind. But when you see the dreaded northeast winds whipping off the peaks after a storm, you know it’s going to be hard to find some soft snow.
