Janu-buried in Tahoe. This was the first big season after a solid five-year drought in the Sierra-Nevada. I was staying with Nick Russell for most of the month and we were snowed in without power more days than not. We ended up doing a lot of pow surfing and snow skating in the neighborhood until the plow came. This snow-barrel opportunity was just too good to pass up. Slow-shutter follow cams in Japan with Alex Yoder and Forrest Shearer—it’s the best option for shooting when the weather is gnarly, the light is low and the snow is too good to stop.
